Rode with the local HOG chapter to Tombstone, AZ. Great ride over 500 miles out and 500 miles back. Tombstone is a very interesting historical town.
Well, this weekend we had a few minutes for lunch on Saturday. Travelzoo has a promotion going on where for $29.00 you get a lift ride up the mountain and $20.00 towards lunch up at the restaraunt at the summit. This is was a fun trip to check out the surroundings. The food was good. I recommend the Ribeye sandwich lunch. Theresa had one of their burgers and she says it was very good. Here are a few pictures from out trip:
We had a great time seeing Mt. Rushmore and the Black Hills on the Harley. Approximately 1500 miles in 5 days from Wallace Idaho to Mt. Rushmore and return. Also saw Devil’s Tower and Custer’s Battlefield.
So a little bit about Mt. Rushmore. Mount Rushmore National Memorial is host to almost three million visitors a year from across the country and around the world. They come to marvel at the majestic beauty of the Black Hills of South Dakota and to learn about the birth, growth, development and the preservation of our country. Over the decades, Mount Rushmore has grown in fame as a symbol of America-a symbol of freedom and hope for people from all cultures and backgrounds.
